T&A Time.

Sorry, I meant Q&A Time.

I'm so out of ideas for this blog that it's not even funny. And then it's funny and then not funny again.

So let's do a little question-and-answer session.

Is there anything I haven't covered that you want to ask me? Or something you want more dirty deets about?

ASK ME ANYTHING!!

Help me find something to write about, my beloveds. Or even if you are a perfect stranger. Just ask!

PLEEEEEEEEEASE.

  1. Jo, how do you find time to blog and still maintain a pristine home and take your kids on daily adventures to museums, parks, playdates, movies, and the beach?

    1. I find time to blog in between checking my email every four seconds, playing Facebook's Slotomania nonstop, reading LiveJournal and refreshing it every minute hoping for something new, and parking my kids in front of the TV to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. I even throw a few Ritz crackers their way to feed them. Then it's back to Slotomania and, if you're lucky, a blog entry. I hope that answers your question.

  2. Jo, what do you do on days where you leave the confines of your living room?

    1. Thank you for your question. On days where we leave the actual living room, we go into Maya's bedroom or the kitchen (where my laptop sits on the table and I can play Slotomania while my children roam about aimlessly). Then after our adventures into other rooms of the house, it's right back to the living room.

    1. I'm so glad you asked. Let' see. Two empty cans of sugar-free Rockstar, Elmer's glue, a stack of Christmas cards from friends and family, watercolor paints, an aquadoodle, a sipply cup with old juice in it, two books (Angela's Ashes and A Widow for One Year), my little gnome garden thing that I'm growing, a grocery bag filled with baby clothes that I am going to give to my cousin, crayons, a huge container of mixed nuts, a bag of presents I received for Christmas, scratch paper with random things written on it, various assorted cords for things like my phone and my camera, a play-doh kit, my laptop which is open to Slotomania, the crusts of the toast I made my kids this morning, and some ancient moldy, falling apart, brown flowers sitting in a vase.

I am nothing if not organized and devoted to tidyness.

    1. Besides my hands, four times in a row? A banana. Yes a banana. Because even though you don't eat the peel, who knows who has touched those motherfuckers? I am not ashamed to admit that I WASH BANANAS.

    1. If you can't even use the right spelling of "your," you do not deserve an answer.

  10. What kind of things are you excited to share with your kids when they get older? I, for example, am excited to laugh until the brink of peeing while watching Mel Brooks movies with my son.

    1. I'm excited to be able to cook with my kids. Like, really cook, not just say, "Here, you get to stir this! GOOD JOB!!" I also look forward to the day they can make dinner-type foods completely on their own.

I look forward to going back to Hawaii (or the Bahamas, or somewhere else tropical) when Noey gets older.

And I'm excited to have them watch "The Princess Bride" and GET how awesome it is.

    1. I'd say 2012 was a real fucknugget. Total shitballs. I went through all kinds of struggles I hope to never go through again. I am praying 2013 is better for me, although I can't see a lot changing.

    3. I don't know if you'll get a notification for this or not but hey here goes.

I'm not sure where I found it! Either the ask_me_anything community or just general internetting. You almost definitely do not know me. And we can be LJ friends as long as you don't mind that I haven't updated in I LITERALLY DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT MY LJ TO FIND OUT HOW LONG.

    4. We can totes be LJ friends, because I NEVER EVER UPDATE EITHER OMG. So it will be fun to have a kindred soul.

"How do you know each other?"

      --"Oh, through LJ."

"So you talk and update often?"

--"No. Never. We never do. That's why we're so close."

  14. Hi Jo,

I don't know what to ask you to write about, but I just wanted to say I hope you never, ever stop writing! Not a very realistic expectation, I know, *sigh*, but I literally found your blog today and have spent most of my afternoon reading it and have scared the cats with my chortling many times.

I think that what attracts me to your blog the most is not the germ-phobia (because I do not have that - in fact I shamefully admit that I get eggs from the chicken coop and totally don't wash my hands or the eggs before I grab the refrigerator door handle and put them in - and you would probably be disgusted by me) but rather the social anxiety. Wow, do I have that in abundance. And right now (here's some TMI for you) I'm trying to figure out if I'm better with or without the drugs. I don't know.

Also, as a side note, I found out yesterday that the author of Hyperbole and a Half has been suffering from crippling depression for the past couple of years, which was shocking. I went to her site for the first time in a long while because I wanted to buy her book for my husband for Valentine's Day, only to find that not only is it not out yet, but that she's working through some serious stuff. Which makes me feel even more appreciation for her work.

I don't know if you've stated early on in the blog (I'm reading it backwards) that you wouldn't discuss how your husband deals with your mental issues. Mine is kinda the "get over it" type, although I think he's slowly figuring out that my brain is kinda broken sometimes and I can't just rub some dirt on it and move on. So anyway, I guess I could ask for one thing, it would be more on the dynamic between yourself and your spouse, specifically when it comes to your OCD.

Thank you for all that you freely share. It brought a light to my life today, and I can't wait to keep reading!
