I am desperate to create something. It's desperate. Painful. Agonizing. Core-deep. I want to write, something, anything. I have a desperate urge in me to create. And yet I can't think of anything to do.

  1. Fun. is soooo my jam.

Sorry you are in a rut. That is a really sucky feeling.

Write from your heart and don't worry about what it says. Keep doing that and you will eventually come upon something that is worthy of Jojo's stamp :)

  2. What about those great collage making skills you learned in therapy last week? OR CREATE A SMOOTHIE!

    1. I was so about to post something similar to this, but chesea beat me to the punch. :)

Not sure if this would work for you, but it's something I used to do when I babysat my cousins when I was younger: when it was time for bed, I'd ask them each (3 boys) to tell me ONE thing that they wanted included in a bedtime story (usually ended up being one of the Ninja Turtles, One of the kids of 3 Ninjas, and a random place, like "grandma's house") and I would come up with a bedtime story that incorporated those three things. Really got my creative juices going. Maybe you could try that with the girls one night? It would give you a "creation" (which you could even turn around and write down, and possibly be inspired to write other random stories for your girls) and give you some quality time with the lil' ones, which I know you've been wanting to increase. Just an idea! I really hope you are able to create something soon!

    2. That's a really great idea. I feel like I'm nowhere near creative enough to come up with stories on the spur of the moment, but I could give it a try. Thanks for the awesome suggestion. :)

    3. Just think of the fairy tales & bedtime stories you liked as a kid, and change a few of the characters or the setting. It gives you a good jumping off point, and then you can let your brain wander for a bit. :)

  3. I hate that "gotta make something" feeling when I've got writers' block. Writing blueballs or something. Gar.

  4. I've never heard it summed up better than writing blueballs.
